Fall in Love with February!

Not sure about you, but has your head been spinning with all the world news and events that have happened in the first month of the year? Well...it's time to move forward into February. And there's lots to talk about.

Be sure to check out February's calendar for planning ideas and themes here as well as the Centre for Language Training and Education's here.

As we all know, one fun topic is Valentine's Day. The days leading up to February 14th can be a good time to talk about other topics such symbols and customs, love and relationships and special gifts such as chocolate and roses. Other mentionable topics for this month are Canada Flag Day, Safe Internet Day, and Levi Strauss's Birthday (and students love to talk about jeans!).

February is also Black History month which is observed not only in Canada, but in the U.S. and the United Kingdom too. It is a special month to honour the experiences and legacies of those who became an important part of black history.

Oops! I did it again. I made a new website (Baby baby baby – sing with me!) Oh, – including Blog posts that expand on the Details section of each Secret - and a YouTube channel to go with the website ... And remember, each site now has a set of 10 of my "101 Secrets of Canadian Culture" book, and 1 Teacher’s Workbook. We’ve been using the lessons here at Millcroft, and so far, the students seem to LOVE them! Of course, if you have any questions (or suggestions!), please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Check out my website here! (Just remember, you'll need to use Chrome to get to it)

Happy February!
Cheers,
